Angus G. Wynne III
Dallas, Tx.
January 2012

If you have been around Dallas for a minute or two and are familiar with the music scene and the town's history and people, you have probably heard Angus' name. I was introduced by our mutual friend Neill Whitlock not too long ago and have visited with him twice for lunch and conversations over the past two weeks. We talked about a lot... our family histories which are mildly and geographically intertwined, riding on a chariot in Rome with Charlton Heston during the filming of Ben Hur, aversion therapy, Texas musical history, opinions about what really happened in '63 in Dealey Plaza, Bob Dylan's first show with an electric backing band which Angus had a hand in bringing to Texas, how the internet has changed business, sharing barbecue with Otis Redding, solutions to cat allergies, he and his family's involvement in the World's Fair and a few other things that i can't remember. Not bad for just getting acquainted. The guy has lived quite a bit and i found myself answering 'no' when asked if i was familiar with a subject or person more times that i usually do. More than all of the experiences, elbows rubbed and deeds done though, i like how the guy is quick to laugh, gave me his fill attention and took an interest in finding out about where i was coming from as well. All good and personable qualities. These days he is still running Wynne Entertainment and plugging away promoting, booking shows and keeping his ear to the music world. You can check out more of his history in film and the company that he runs at the links below. Enjoy.
